The moonbridge dumps you out onto a hard concrete floor. Twilight filters through grimy skylights, illuminating a run-down warehouse. Faded paint on the brick walls indicates this was once a shoe factory, somewhere in the old St. Louis garment district. The soft whir of machine fans and the ceaseless clicking of a keyboard catches your attention.
"Back here." You catch a flick of furry, pointed ears above a monitor in one corner of the room. "Watch your step." You thread your way amongst several machines merrily humming and blinking to themselves, stacks of printouts and outmoded magnetic media. Dozens of Darth Mauls glare down at you from rows of spent Mountain Dew cans.
A slender Crinos Garou sprawls across a large battered leather chair, held together by layers of duct tape. He pounds furiously away at an oversized keyboard across his knees, nose never wavering from one of the half-dozen CRTs in the little pocket of tech. Finally, with all the flourish of a maestro completing a performance, he taps a few final keystrokes. "That should give those netmonkeys at Pentex, Inc., something to clean up in the morning." He sets the keyboard aside and turns to face you. "Hiya. Lurks-Between-Bytes. How can I help you?" He gestures to a stack of brightly-colored UV-coated cardboard. "I haven't finished sorting through my cards yet. I should have my extras available for trade soon."
"If you're here about the mess in Las Vegas, I'll share what I know."
He wags a finger at a tall doorway. "If you're looking for the Caern of the Screaming Electrons, it's right through there." The door looks much too dark and gives you the impression that, geometrically, it simply can't lead anywhere. A thick bundle of wires and conduits snake up to the doorframe and disappear from view. Weaver magic, no doubt.
His questing finger swings over to a wrought-iron stairway curving down into the darkness, presumably to the street below. "Feel free to check out the town of St. Louis. I'll be here when you get back."
"Of course, if you're here to talk to me, let's talk."
