Glenn "Bif" Buettner been working on this setting for nearly as long as I've known him. I've described it as Mad Max meets Planescape meets the Mists of Avalon. It's high fantasy meets grunge tech, bizarre vistas and bustling hovel-encrusted cities built on the bones of ancient, fallen empires. Humans are extinct, and the Realms are peopled by numerous hybrid races. Good stuff. Check out the current rules here.

Ainur
The Ainur are half-giants. These sons of Titans range the frozen wastes, spartan barbarian lives forged in ice and stone.

Portrait of a nameless Ainur. It mostly started with the facial tattoos and grew from there. Black Bic ball-point.

Anduran
Sons and daughters of angels, these winged folk tend to swing to the extremes of morality.

One of those pictures that just kinda flows outta you. It showed up in about 20 minutes or so, during the heady aftermath of Trivia 1999 (an annual 54-hour long marathon trivia contest in Steven's Point, WI). Black felt-tip.

Aslonian
Monstrous bear-kin, these creatures are naturally curious and slow to anger. But when they do get mad...

One ticked off Aslonian. Black Bic ball-point.
A refined Aslonian. Character portrait for Eric Kamprath, though the character's name escapes me at the moment... Black felt-tip.

Charek
Feline humaniods, they have an insatiable curiosity. Merchants, crimelords, and laze-abouts.

Of course, the Charek have their warriors among them. Pencil.
A monk of the Church of He. Some things survive even a world-wide cataclysm. (A Canticle for Liebowitz reference, for those of you not paying attention.) Pencil.
Brando with a mane, this distinguished individual undoubtedly commands great respect in the underworld. Pencil.

Dracon
These animated gargoyles are not the brightest of the races, but what they lack in intelligence they make up in sheer determination.

A winged Dracon, happily catching a thermal. Black Bic ball-point.

Druga
Half-dwarves, the stunties are strong, tireless, and meticulous workers, taking well to mining and inventing.

A Druga fire elementalist. Pencil.

Fereg
Long-armed, low-browed, heavy-jawed, these brutes are offspring of Goblins and their twisted ilk. Not all are mean-spirited, though.

A Fereg, just hanging out. Pencil.

Karanesti
Half-elves, they have an affinity for the magical arts, and often serve as ambassadors to the denizens of the Mists.

A haughty Karanesti noble in court dress. Never quite finished, the clothes were inspired by the Centauris from Babylon 5. Pencil.
Every now and again I wind up with a little doodle that pleases me. This is one of 'em. Black Bic ball-point.

Kral'Karu
Rock trolls, they possess the strength of the Realms.
I don't know where he got the knife. Honest. Pencil.

Nekron
Four-armed reptilians, these dwellers of swamp are peaceful, scholarly folk.

Well, not my favorite composition. The four-armed thing is always a challenge, but the feet didn't turn out too well. Pencil.

Rygar
Moss trolls. Are they animal or vegetable? The debate rages on...
Aww, ain't he a cute little plant? Got kind of a Muppet thing going. Black Bic ball-point.
Now, from the other end of the spectrum. Just one reason why organiware and Rygars don't mix. One of my favorites. Black Bic ball-point.
